About the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.®

Founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor Janelle Hail, the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s mission is to save lives by increasing awareness of breast cancer through education and by providing mammograms for those in need.

As part of our mission, we fund breast care facilities across the nation to provide underserved women with mammograms and other breast health services.  In addition, at some facilities we provide funding for patient navigators, who help patients navigate through appointments, diagnosis and treatments.

Our educational programs include the resource Beyond The Shock, which features informative videos, stories from survivors and a Q&A platform.  The Early Detection Plan enables users to create a proactive plan to help detect cancer early.  Breast cancer patients can find support in our MyNBCF community of survivors.

We fund research through partnerships with MD Anderson and The Cleveland Clinic. NBCF is also a member of the WIN Consortium, a worldwide partnership of cancer organizations, hospitals and researchers who collaborate to achieve breakthroughs in cancer care and treatment.
